Heather M. Monaghan was interviewed as a speaker, author, and expert in safe patient handling for a segment on Today in America to explain its importance in the U.S. She shared the importance of properly using safe patient handling equipment and making sure to use the right equipment for the right patient. She also discused how the safe patient handling initiative enables the nurses to stay in their roles longer and enables the organizations to save money on worker’s compensations costs due to fewer staff injuries.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center's system for accreditation of continuing nursing education is a voluntary peer-reviewed accreditation process.
